This nesting set came from Westminster Forge. They are both of heavy copper and are lined with tin. I have this set in my trekking gear for boiling water and drinking tea. I also make polenta and rice in the boiler, and it could be used for many more applications from soups to a warming dish. When nested, the cup holds plenty of polenta and rice for a long trek. The cup handle gets a little hot when the cup is first filled with a hot liquid, but the fact that it nests in the boiler makes up for having to wait a minute for the handle to cool down, or having to use some sort of padding to lift the cup right away. My take on it is that if it's too hot to pick up, how would I expect to drink the contents?
Westminster Forge also makes several other period-correct items like lanterns, canteens, wash basins, and bean pots. Their catalogue can be had for the cost of its postage. Order it at P.O. Box 257, Versailles, CT 06383, phone (860) 822-8473.---JBL
