- Comments - Great site. I had no idea there were trekkers in this part of the world.
Tried to get this sort of thing started 20 years ago, but there wasn't a lot of interest
then. Now I'm into a lot of different periods, but still fun to look into the Colonial
Frontier era stuff from time to time. Great job, and good site.---GEF

- Comments - I have just discovered your site and find it interesting and useful.
I have been involved in re-enacting for about 18 years. Currently I serve in a
Rev. War artillery unit, but am active portraying late 18th and early 19th century
sailors. Where are you located? Do you attend events in Ontario? I am a member
of the United Train of Artillery of Rhode Island and president of the Thousand
Islands River Heritage Society. Please visit our site at
www.gunboatweekend.com.
Enjoy the re-enacting season.
Editor's Note:
Thanks for the nice note, Michael. Armory Hill is located in beautiful Northern
California. While Jean and I try to make it to as many events as possible we haven't
made it to Eastern Canada yet. We are planning a trip to Quebec in the near future
though. Maybe we can get together then.---JBW

AHLHA,
Your site looks wonderful and I can hardly wait to explore it to the fullest.
From what little I've seen so far you are what I call "Museum," quite authentic.
There is one small thing that maybe you have overlooked...the glasses. They are
too big and tend to spoil the image, and they tend to make the wearer look like
a SASS Shooter. Lenses were quite expensive and ground very small. Each era
had it's size and shape. Just a thought.
This site will go into my "Favorites list."
Keep your powder dry and always:
Lean to the Right, Shoot to the Left.
Cash (1860's - 1870's)
Editor's Note:
In our defense we knew Jean's glasses were from the wrong period when we were
doing the photo session. He does have a proper pair of 18th century specs but
had left them at home. We'll be doing another "cover" shot soon with your
editor in his kilt. We'll both have the proper eyewear on.
Well spotted, David.---JBW

- Comments - A great site. Good for all the American historical
hobbyists.
I'd like to include a link to my site
Der Westerner.
Further, all the best for you - Albert
Editors note:
Albert's site is really quite nice. I for one did not realize
that cowboy re-enactment
was so popular in Germany. He has lots of good information and some
wonderful
pictures showing how involved the Germans get and to what degree they will take
their
quest for historical accuracy. Oh, brush up on your German.  The
entire site is "auf
Deutsch." Naturlich!---JBW

- Comments - I have a foot in several periods, various personas as well; born in a
tipi on the reservation in 1947 the son of two half breeds, I am half Scot, a quarter
Seneca and a quarter Lakota. I am attracted to both the Native American tribes in
my ancestry as well as the Scot; have been known to wear a kilt under a hunting
frock many a time. So many great time periods to try, too bad I can't travel to the
East Coast more often.
This is one GREAT web site!

- Comments - Guys, I was just looking around the blackpowder sites and found ya.
I am a jack of all black powder trades and a master of none. I'm a history nut and
re-enact and use the weapons and gear from every period from the French Indian
Wars to the Battle of the Bulge. My special love is all forms of B/P shooting,
I even load all my own 1869-1900 period cartridges with the original black stuff.
I compete in the local CAS shoots in the B-P class and hold my own. I'm glad to
see you're around helping others get into our fantastic hobby. Keep up the great
work.
