Well, we've been on-line for a few months now and as the DJs used to say, "The hits just keep on coming." We registered with several search engines and rewrote our index page to include meta tags and sat back to see what happened. Now I'll admit that this Web business didn't work exactly like I envisioned but it looks like things are starting to get interesting. People are finding their way to us from Europe and Asia. And I see a few hits coming in from the military. So, as our audience broadens we'll try to keep our content broad as well. To that end we're writing like crazy and planning several "how to" projects to document.

The president of Armory Hill, Jean Baptiste LaJeunesse, and also our resident camp cooking expert has been gathering his trailside recipes into the new column as well as preparing a backlog so we can start to turn things around on a regular basis. He's also promised to write a series of articles on how to prepare your cook box for both camping and trekking. Jean Baptiste is an avid fly fisherman (and a good 'un, too!) with an interest in period flies and fishing techniques. Maybe we can persuade him to give us a few hints in that area as well. He's finished his new brain-tanned leggings for his courier du bois persona so he's got all the spare time he needs. That, and a "gentle" reminder from his editor every now and again. Jean Baptiste - that phone ringing is your editor again. Pick it up this time.

Speaking of your editor, he's been reading several books he thinks will be of interest to you. You will see reviews of two of them, Jefferson and the Gun-Men and Thoughts on the Kentucky Rifle in its Golden Age, in this latest iteration of the AHLHA Web site. He's also got a new Pedersoli flintlock rifle to review. I think you'll find something of interest in each article. Be on the lookout for his next review of a Scott Sibley powder horn. Scott and his wife Cathy are well known for their meticulous work and scrupulous historical accuracy. Scott and Cathy's work has been featured in numerous publications, including Muzzleloader Magazine. The powder horn promises to be a beauty. Let's hope the article matches up. Your editor will write it as soon as "His Horn" arrives.

In closing I'd like to invite all of you out there to write to us at editor@armoryhill.com and let us know what you like and don't like about our Web site. We're interested in not only telling the stories we want you to hear but also in saying the things you think are interesting. And please, let us know if we're missing anything.

So, until next time, I bid you fare well on a familiar trail.---JBW
