Rex Ruth is a native-born Californian raised in the central San Joaquin Valley who now lives with his wife, Janna, in Auburn California; gold country. He has five children and holds a degree in drama, mass communication, and history. He has written a study guide used by home-schoolers and Sunday schools alike that traces the development of constitutional law and the U.S. Constitution.
Mr. Ruth has been a docent at the California State Gold Discovery Park in Coloma California for seven years where he has portrayed four different historical personages such as the Rev.Aaron Cool (the Preacher after whom the town of Cool, California, is named), an itinerate preacher from New England in the 1850's, as well as three politicians, including President Polk.
During the terrible Civil War in Liberia West Africa, Mr. Ruth spoke as the former Senator Daniel Webster, the Whig Senator from Massachusetts, and helped raise thousands of dollars for the suffering people of Liberia. Lately, however, he has developed his favorite historical figure of John Charles Fremont the Great Explorer, and has been invited to speak to many different audiences such as civil and political groups, where he has been very well received. He is pictured below, portraying Fremont writing the Treaty of Cahuenga in 1847.
